Woman, 78, Struck By Pickup, Killed In South Jersey Crash: Police

An Egg Harbor Township woman was killed while crossing a road on Veterans Day, authorities said.

Sharon Parker, 78, died in the crash on Monday, Nov. 11, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to Tilton Road near the intersection with Goldenrod Lane at around 5:59 p.m. 

Investigators said a 2015 Ford F-150 was traveling north on Tilton Road. The pickup struck Parker while she was walking across the road.

Parker was pronounced dead at the scene. The 55-year-old Hammonton man who drove the Ford wasn't injured.

Traffic was detoured away from the crash scene for about four hours. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office also responded to the scene, along with paramedics from Egg Harbor Township and AtlantiCare.
